2003 WALK RECAP AND REMINDERSOn Behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, clients, and volunteers of the Pierce County AIDS Foundation, we want to thank you for all of your support and work to make the 2003 Pierce County AIDS Walk a success. Because of your courage in asking your friends and family to make donations, your hard work to collect pledges and the way you and your teams braved the rain and wind on Saturday, October 11, 2003, we are extremely grateful. · The 12th Annual AIDS Walk raised nearly $80,000 to assist those living with HIV and AIDS and their families. · Overall, this year's walk was attended by almost 500 Walkers and Volunteers · We hosted 36 teams comprised of organizations, companies, churches, civic groups, friends, and families. · Lita Nomellini was again the Top Walker at $2205 · Tacoma Community House was the top Walk Team at $2971 We are humbled and amazed by the support we have already received, but we know that the weather affected the Walk, so we need to do some additional follow-up to reach our goal. Can you imagine the additional services we will provide with $25,000 more dollars? Obviously, you already know the need is there. Therefore, can you yourself give $50 more? Will you go the extra mile and follow-up with those people who said they were interested in giving to the AIDS Walk, but just didn't get to it in time? Do you know someone on your team who collected pledges, but didn't make it to the Walk because of the weather, that you can remind of the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS? Anything you can do to help us meet our goal will help! The Walk is the biggest and most important fundraiser for the Pierce County AIDS Foundation! Remember, you and your loved ones can still donate on-line at http://piercecountyaids.org or send your donations to 625 Commerce Street, Suite 10, Tacoma WA 98402.
