DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

The Pierce County AIDS Foundation is the largest AIDS service organization in Pierce County. Founded in 1987, PCAF currently has an annual budget of over 1.8 million, has provided services to over 1,600 persons living with HIV/AIDS in Pierce County, has a staff of over 30, and has over 2,000 individual contributors.
General Description:
Provide Management, Vision, and Oversight to the Finance and Administration Department:
This staff member's primary responsibility is managing the Foundation's operating finances. This includes overseeing all accounting practices, balance all funds and accounts, third-party billing and reporting, preparing financial statements and assures an effective annual audit.
Serve as a Member of the Agency Management Team
Keep management team and board of directors aware of fiscal status of agency; develop strategic plans for implementing solutions to department and agency problems; establish, implement and monitor strategic goals, regularly report budgetary status to department heads, generate financial forecasting reports and develop mitigation proposals.
Reporting:
This staff member reports to the Executive Director and cooperates with all members of the Foundation staff and board. Supervises small administration team.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 4-year degree in Accounting, well-versed in GAAP
· 3-years experience in lead finance position in non-profit org with $1M+ budget
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations and ethnic diversity.
· Excellent communication skills in diverse populations
· Comfort working in gay-positive organization
· Group training experience and facilitation skills desired
· Proven self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, discreet, team player
It is desired that the successful candidate have proficiency in the following, or similar computer programs:
· Microsoft Office
· MIP Accounting Software
· Database Management Programs
· Payroll Processing Software
· Credit Card and bank withdrawal transaction software
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $48,000 to $53,000 per year depending on experience. Benefits package includes vacation and sick leave, long term disability and life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance, medical and dental insurance (small employee co-pay), personal holiday (increasing numbers with years of service), an employee assistance plan, and small retirement plan after two years of service. This is an exempt administrative staff position.
Work Hours and Conditions:
This position is located in the historic Old City Hall building in downtown Tacoma, Washington. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, some flex available. Occasional travel is required to attend offsite meetings.
