Change is coming… and it is good
The PCAF Board and I have agreed on a final date for my tenure as the Executive Director of PCAF. I will be stepping down as the Executive Director on May 27th. It will be eight and a half years to the day when I became the E.D. It seems both like yesterday and 20 years ago!
It is my judgment that now is a good time for me personally to step down and for PCAF to select a new E.D. PCAF is on solid financial footing and is well positioned for the next many years to fulfill its mission. The agency has a strong and experienced senior management team that manages a great staff who do amazing and high quality work everyday.
Personally, I am ready to enter an area of my life when I can work less and selectively choose to be engaged in the world from a different perspective. The one thing I am sure of is I will continue to be involved, in some way, in ending HIV/AIDS and supporting people infected and affected by HIV.
PCAF is beginning a new chapter in its 28-year history. It will benefit from having a fresh and different perspective on how it moves forward in accomplishing its mission. I am personally and professionally proud and pleased with what we have accomplished together in my eight and a half years. It is, and will remain I’m sure, the most meaningful work I have done in my 31 years of working in the HIV/AIDS arena.
I have nothing but thanks and appreciation for everyone who has made my tenure at PCAF meaningful, interesting and successful. Thank you all!
